Each EBW Healthcare book can be used as a basic distance-learning course that you take on your own or in a small group. You can manage the course yourself, and when you are finished, you can write an exam online at http://exam.ebwhealthcare.com.

EBW Healthcare courses enable you to take control of your own learning, without having to travel to training events or bring in expensive trainers. You can also earn CPD points when completing the exams for some of our courses.

Pre-test

Each chapter of your EBW Healthcare book has a corresponding test (at the back of the printed books, and available online at http://exam.ebwhealthcare.com). Before you start each chapter, take the test for that chapter . Do this by yourself even if you are studying with a group of colleagues. Choose the best answer for each multiple choice question and note your answers on a piece of paper. This is called your ‘pre-test’ for that chapter. Record your pre-test mark out of 20.

Work through the chapter

Read each question and answer, and make sure you understand it. Pay particular attention to the key facts (in grey boxes in the printed book, in bold on the website). Work through the case studies to make sure that you have learned the important information.

Post-test

When you have worked through the chapter, re-take the test you did in the beginning. This second test is called your ‘post-test’. Mark the post-test and compare your pre-test and post-test marks. Your marks should have improved considerably. Continue this process as you work your way through the book. This enables you to monitor your progress and measure how much you are learning. Most people will take a few months to finish a full course.

Final examination

Once you are confident that you have mastered all the main lessons in a book, you can take the final examination online at http://exam.ebwhealthcare.com. You will have 60 minutes to write the examination online, and will need to get 60 out of the 75 answers correct in order to pass. You will be immediately notified whether you have successfully passed the examination or not, and will be able to download your certificate for the course if you have been successful.
